Joe Coli

Joe Coli is a partner and co-founder of CTM Legal Group in Chicago, Illinois. He focuses on labor and employment law, municipal law, and corporate law, with a long-standing commitment to working families and organized labor. His practice includes collective bargaining, grievance proceedings, employment disputes, employee benefits, and legal services plans. Coli helps unions, employees, businesses, and public organizations address workplace issues through practical advice, negotiation, and experienced representation.

Coli earned his Juris Doctor from Northwestern University School of Law in 2012 and a Bachelor of Arts from New York University in 2008. His education provided a strong foundation in legal analysis, advocacy, and the laws governing employment relationships and business operations. That training supports his ability to evaluate labor agreements, benefits arrangements, municipal concerns, and corporate matters while helping clients understand the legal and practical consequences of important decisions.

Before co-founding CTM Legal Group in 2012, Coli spent more than a decade working with labor unions. He represented union members in grievance hearings, arbitrations, and collective bargaining agreement negotiations, and he served as a trustee on Taft-Hartley benefit funds. His experience also includes work in Mumbai, India, alongside the firm’s partner organization Dave & Girish & Co., as well as work for the United States Embassy in Madrid, Spain.

Joe Coli is a strong supporter of legal services benefit plans and has helped organizations establish and administer funds that improve access to affordable legal representation. He was appointed to the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Advisory Board in 2016 as an employee representative. Coli is also a member of the Chicago Bar Association, the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans, and the International Bar Association. His work reflects a practical, service-focused approach to labor, employment, and organizational legal needs.
