Jim Pike is a respected Alabama attorney known for aggressive and strategic representation in complex civil litigation. He focuses on defending businesses, insurers, and professionals in high-stakes disputes involving insurance defense, product liability, construction defect claims, employment practices liability, civil rights law, estate litigation, and casualty matters at Shealy, Pike, Hornsby, and Freeman. James H. Pike earned his B.A. in Economics, magna cum laude, from Washington & Lee University. He then received his J.D., magna cum laude, from Washington & Lee University School of Law. During law school, he served on the editorial board of the Washington & Lee Law Review and was inducted into the Order of the Coif. He also served on the Student Executive Committee, which oversees the University’s Honor System.
Mr. Pike, admitted to the Alabama State Bar in 1995, represents clients in state and federal courts, including the United States Supreme Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. He has argued before the Alabama Supreme Court and was invited to speak at the Alabama Attorney General’s Law Enforcement Summit. His work often leads to favorable outcomes at early stages of litigation, helping clients reduce risk and control legal costs.
Jim Pike is designated as a Master Advocate by the National Institute for Trial Advocacy and holds the AV® Preeminent™ rating from Martindale-Hubbell®.
