Jessica Farris Salonus

Jessica Farris Salonus is a special education and employment lawyer serving clients across Tennessee. She leads The Salonus Firm, PLC, with a focused practice dedicated to protecting employee rights and ensuring students with disabilities receive fair treatment under the law. Her work centers on strong advocacy, clear guidance, and practical legal solutions for individuals facing complex workplace or education-related challenges. Ms. Salonus earned her B.S. in Management from Louisiana State University, graduating with honors. She later obtained her J.D. with honors from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law. During law school, she served as Managing Editor of the University of Memphis Law Review. She received multiple academic awards, including the Dean’s Award for Excellence for Best Appellate Brief and CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in Legal History and Juvenile Law. Her education provided a strong foundation in legal research, writing, and advocacy.

Ms. Salonus, in her employment law practice, represents employees in matters involving age discrimination, disability discrimination, retaliation, failure to accommodate, and wrongful termination. Ms. Salonus is also widely known for her work in special education law. She represents children with disabilities and their families in cases involving IDEA, Section 504, and the ADA. Her practice includes advocating during IEP meetings, handling due process hearings, and managing appeals, including matters before the Sixth Circuit.
