Jesse Nix

Jesse Nix is a Salt Lake City criminal defense lawyer and founder of Nix Law. His practice includes DUI, drug possession and trafficking, domestic violence, burglary, theft, sexual assault, and other criminal matters. He represents people accused of crimes in Utah and uses prosecution and defense experience to evaluate evidence, charging decisions, courtroom procedure, plea negotiations, and trial strategy throughout the criminal process.

Jesse earned a B.S. in Political Science from the University of Utah in 2005 and a J.D. from the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law in 2010. His legal education was followed by work inside the Salt Lake County criminal justice system, giving him a practical foundation in criminal procedure and litigation. That background supports his current focus on defending individuals facing criminal accusations and possible penalties.

Jesse began working with the Salt Lake District Attorney’s Office in 2008 and later joined the Salt Lake Legal Defender Association in 2012. At the defender association, he represented accused people and served as an intern coordinator who helped train law students. He later formed Nix Law, where he continues criminal defense work involving offenses that range from impaired driving and drug charges to serious violent and sex-related allegations.

Jesse Nix has served in professional and public-service roles connected to Utah’s legal system, including work with a judicial nominating commission and other leadership positions. His career has included prosecution, public defense, law-student training, and private criminal defense. He continues to represent clients through investigations, negotiations, hearings, and trials while applying experience developed on different sides of the criminal justice process.
