About
Jermaine Brown is a Houston employment litigation attorney who represents people confronting workplace disputes and institutional misconduct. His approach is informed by direct experience challenging a national security agency over hiring and retaliation practices before he became a lawyer. That experience gives him a practical understanding of what employees face when they question decisions made by large organizations. Jermaine works to bring attention to the rights of individuals who are dealing with employers or agencies that have significant resources and complex procedures.
Jermaine earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy with a minor in Rhetoric from the University of Maryland and an MBA from Frostburg State University. He then completed his Juris Doctor at the University of Houston Law Center, where he received CALI Awards for the highest grades in Civil Rights Legislation and Enforcement and Public Education Law. His studies connect legal analysis, civil rights, business decision-making, and the communication skills needed to present contested workplace matters.
Before law school, Jermaine served for more than a decade as a lead negotiator within the intelligence and national security community. He also challenged a national security agency’s hiring practices and alleged retaliatory conduct. The resulting decision required the agency to create and staff a new office, retrain management, and implement broader changes affecting employees and applicants. These experiences gave him firsthand exposure to administrative systems, institutional decision-making, and negotiations with powerful organizations.
Jermaine is fluent in American Sign Language, which broadens his ability to communicate with clients. His professional background combines public-sector negotiation, firsthand civil rights advocacy, and formal legal training. He brings that perspective to employment matters involving fairness, accountability, and employee rights. Jermaine Brown uses his understanding of institutional operations to help clients examine workplace decisions, explain their concerns, and pursue remedies through the legal process with informed decisions.
