Jennifer H. Martin

Jennifer H. Martin is a partner based in Portland and Salt Lake City with more than two decades of experience advising energy clients. Her work focuses on negotiating development agreements and guiding regulatory compliance, helping clients structure and implement complex energy transactions across evolving markets and regulatory frameworks.

Jennifer earned a J.D. from the University of Iowa College of Law in 1999, where she served as Senior Note and Comment Editor of the Journal of Gender Race and Justice, 1998-1999. She holds a B.A. in English and Gender Studies from the University of Notre Dame, 1995, and studied at St. Patrick’s College during 1992–1993.

Jennifer advises on corporate renewable transactions, including structuring deals under different regulatory regimes and negotiating retail supply arrangements. She has experience with virtual power purchase agreements, direct access supply agreements, and green energy tariff transactions, helping clients meet sustainability goals through effective energy strategies.

Jennifer represents owners, investors, developers, and corporate buyers in renewable energy projects. Her work includes negotiating long-term power purchase agreements, interconnection agreements, and fuel supply arrangements, and leading due diligence for the acquisition of renewable energy portfolios and the development of major transmission projects.

Jennifer has also advised on innovative transactions, including storage and capacity agreements and complex renewable energy purchases. She helps clients assess utility requests, structure investments, and manage agreements across wind, solar, and biomass projects throughout the United States energy market.
