Jennifer E. Jensen

Jennifer E. Jensen is a shareholder and family law attorney at ABST Law in Fargo, North Dakota. She represents clients in divorce, child custody disputes, adoption, guardianship, conservatorship, and other family law matters. Jennifer is trained in collaborative divorce and family law mediation. Her practice gives families options for addressing disputes through court proceedings or structured discussions, depending on their circumstances. She also serves as a mediator in the North Dakota Supreme Court Family Mediation Program.

Jennifer earned a B.S. in Criminal Justice and a B.A. in English from the University of North Dakota in 2009. She received her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of North Dakota School of Law in 2012. During law school, she served in leadership roles with the Law Women’s Caucus and worked on the North Dakota Law Review. She received the National Association of Women Lawyers Outstanding Law Student award in 2012.

Jennifer clerked for judges of the South Central Judicial District and for Chief Judge Ralph R. Erickson of the United States District Court for the District of North Dakota. She later practiced family law at another Fargo firm before joining ABST Law in 2018. These roles gave her experience with judicial procedures and family-related disputes. She is licensed in North Dakota and Minnesota and handles matters involving parenting rights, family relationships, and court-supervised decision-making.

Jennifer E. Jensen served as president of the State Bar Association of North Dakota from 2023 to 2024, following other leadership roles with the association. Her honors include Great Plains Rising Stars recognition from 2017 through 2022 and Great Plains Super Lawyers recognition in 2023 and 2024. She is also active in the North Dakota Collaborative Divorce Group. Her combination of courtroom experience, mediation training, and professional leadership supports her work with families navigating significant changes.
