Jeffrey S. Fertl

Jeffrey S. Fertl is a partner at Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with more than four decades of trial and appellate litigation experience. His practice includes consumer and class action defense, complex tort and general casualty matters, product liability, warranty disputes, and commercial litigation. Fertl represents businesses and manufacturers through all stages of litigation, including trial, mediation, and appellate proceedings, while helping clients address significant claims and manage litigation risk.

Fertl earned his J.D., cum laude, from Marquette University Law School in 1981 and his B.A., summa cum laude, from Marquette University in 1978. His academic background provided a strong foundation for legal analysis, advocacy, and complex litigation. He is admitted to practice in Wisconsin, before the U.S. Supreme Court and U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, and in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin.

His experience also includes commercial class actions, product liability claims, and warranty disputes. He has represented major manufacturers such as Volkswagen, Volvo, General Electric, Mazda, Porsche, Toro Company, Panasonic, and others in commercial and product liability litigation, giving him substantial experience with complex disputes involving large corporate clients.
