Jeffrey S. Chiesa

Jeffrey S. Chiesa is a Roseland, New Jersey litigation attorney, member, and co-chair of the executive committee. He focuses on securities enforcement, white collar criminal defense, corporate internal investigations, monitoring, and complex litigation. He represents businesses and individuals facing government investigations, regulatory scrutiny, criminal allegations, and high-stakes disputes. Chiesa earned his J.D. from The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law in 1990. He received his B.B.A. from the University of Notre Dame in 1987. He is admitted in New Jersey, the federal district court in New Jersey, and the US Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. His education and admissions support his work involving investigations, trials, appeals, regulatory concerns, and complicated questions of public and corporate law.

Chiesa served as New Jersey’s 59th Attorney General and later as a US Senator for New Jersey in 2013. He previously served as the governor’s chief counsel and led the gubernatorial transition team. He spent seven years in the US Attorney’s Office for the District of New Jersey. He prosecuted public corruption and white collar fraud cases while helping manage criminal, civil, appellate, and special prosecutions divisions. His government service included responsibility for consumer protection, gaming, casino, alcohol regulation, and statewide law enforcement.
