Jeffrey R. Babbin is a New Haven appellate lawyer who handles complex civil appeals and legal motions in trial courts. His practice includes appellate matters involving constitutional issues, insurance, product liability, securities, medical and professional malpractice, breach of contract, fraud, business torts, personal torts, and labor relations. He also assists clients with administrative appeals involving judicial review of federal and state agency action.
Jeff earned his J.D. from Stanford Law School in 1984. He received his B.S. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1981, graduating magna cum laude with a background in economics from the Wharton School. His academic training supports his appellate work by combining strong legal analysis with careful evaluation of business, regulatory, and litigation issues.
Jeff has handled appeals in federal and state courts throughout the country, including matters reaching the U.S. Supreme Court. He has authored party and amicus briefs before the Supreme Court and has helped prepare advocates for oral argument before that Court. His experience also includes representing healthcare providers in appeals involving major medical malpractice verdicts and advising trial counsel on complex motions before, during, and after trial.
