Jeffrey L. Powell

Jeffrey L. Powell is an experienced attorney who has zealously represented clients throughout eastern Iowa for more than 17 years. He practices in state and federal courts, handling criminal defense, family law, litigation, personal injury, and state, local, and municipal law matters with skill and dedication.

Jeffrey graduated with distinction from the University of Iowa College of Law in 2005. He also earned his master’s degree from Illinois State University in 2002 and his bachelor’s degree in 1999, building a strong academic foundation for his legal career.

Jeffrey has tried more than 80 jury trials across nine counties and has appeared before the Iowa Supreme Court. His courtroom experience gives him valuable insight into case preparation, trial strategy, client advocacy, and the importance of protecting rights at every stage of litigation.

Jeffrey has successfully defended clients against serious charges, including domestic abuse, assault, OWI, attempted murder, robbery, and felony sex offenses. His criminal defense practice reflects careful preparation, strong advocacy, and a commitment to helping clients face high-stakes legal matters with confidence.

Jeffrey previously practiced with Powell and McCullough, PLC in Coralville before joining the firm. Born in Bloomington, Illinois, he now serves clients across eastern Iowa and remains active in the legal community as a member of the Washington County Bar Association.
