About
Jeffrey D. Winchester is a partner in O’Hagan Meyer’s Las Vegas office whose practice focuses on labor and employment law. He advises employers on workplace compliance and represents them in disputes involving accessibility, disability, leave, wage and hour obligations, and other employment issues. His work includes counseling, training, audits, litigation, arbitration, and administrative proceedings. A significant part of his career has involved helping management address employment risks before and after disputes arise.
Winchester earned a J.D., cum laude, from Cornell Law School in 1996 and served on the editorial board of the Cornell Law Review. He received an M.Ed. in Applied Linguistics from Temple University Japan in 1990 and a B.A., with honors, from the University of Arizona in 1981. He later clerked for Judge David M. Ebel of the US Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, strengthening his research and appellate analysis experience.
Winchester previously served as vice president for employment law at a major gaming and hospitality company, providing in-house guidance on workplace matters. His private practice includes trials, arbitrations, and administrative hearings as well as preventive counseling. He works with employers on policies, training, disability accommodation, leave administration, wage and hour compliance, and related disputes. His combination of in-house and outside-counsel experience helps him understand how employment decisions affect operations, management, and litigation exposure.
Jeffrey D. Winchester has received recognition for employment law work in Nevada and continues to advise employers on changing workplace obligations. His practice combines compliance counseling with dispute resolution, allowing him to help clients address issues before litigation and defend decisions when claims arise. He brings experience with gaming and hospitality employers as well as broader workplace matters. His approach centers on practical guidance, clear policies, and careful management of employment-related legal risk.
