Jeffrey A. VanderWal

Jeffrey A. VanderWal is a San Diego benefits and employment lawyer who advises employers and benefit plans on ERISA administration, fiduciary compliance, wage and hour matters, and workplace issues. He also handles trade secret, confidentiality, employment discrimination, and wrongful discharge matters. He represents clients in federal and state courts and before administrative agencies, while helping organizations address benefit plan operations, employment obligations, and regulatory requirements with practical, focused legal guidance.

Jeffrey earned his J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2003, where he received the American Jurisprudence Award for Labor Law. He earned his B.S. in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1996. He is admitted in California and Texas, as well as before the US Supreme Court, Ninth Circuit, and federal district courts in Southern and Central California for federal litigation.

Jeffrey advises clients on Department of Labor audits and recommendations affecting employee benefit plans. He also counsels clients on prevailing wage compliance, including contribution annualization, apprenticeship, and training issues.
