Jeff Sprout

Jeff Sprout is an employment law attorney whose practice also includes criminal defense and litigation. He represents clients in high-stakes disputes in state and federal courts across North Dakota and beyond. Jeff brings a disciplined and courtroom-ready approach to each matter. His work focuses on careful preparation, strong command of the record, and practical judgment for clients facing serious legal challenges.

Jeff earned his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the University of North Dakota School of Law in 2018, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif. He served as Symposium Editor of the North Dakota Law Review and worked as a judicial extern to United States Magistrate Judge Alice R. Senechal. He also earned his undergraduate degree, summa cum laude, from North Dakota State University in 2014.

Jeff’s background includes clerkships with Chief Justice Jon J. Jensen of the North Dakota Supreme Court and Judge Peter D. Welte of the United States District Court for the District of North Dakota. These roles gave him direct experience with appellate decision-making, federal procedure, criminal matters, and civil litigation. He also practiced at another Fargo-based law office, where he represented clients in a wide range of litigation matters.

Jeff Sprout is admitted to practice in North Dakota, Minnesota, the U.S. District Courts for North Dakota and Minnesota, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. He is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association, the State Bar Association of North Dakota, and the Cass County Bar Association.
