Jeff Kaplan

Jeff Kaplan is an attorney at Dinse who practices Civil Litigation and Appeals. Jeff works with the firm’s litigation group on complex commercial disputes, insurance coverage, trust and probate disputes, regulatory matters, and appeals in state and federal courts. He takes a careful and collaborative approach to representation, beginning with the client’s needs and the legal issues particular to the matter.

Jeff earned his B.A. from Wheaton College in 2012 and his J.D., magna cum laude, from Quinnipiac University Law School in 2019. His academic background supports the research and written analysis involved in civil litigation and appeals. He is admitted in Connecticut and Vermont and before the U.S. District Courts for the District of Connecticut and the District of Vermont.

Jeff clerked for Judge William D. Cohen of the Vermont Supreme Court in 2023–2024 and Judge Nina F. Elgo of the Connecticut Appellate Court in 2019–2020. He previously practiced commercial and appellate litigation in Hartford, Connecticut. His matters there included FINRA arbitrations, internal and government investigations, business and shareholder disputes, fiduciary claims, governmental takings, and appeals before Connecticut’s appellate and supreme courts.

Jeff Kaplan combines appellate clerkship experience with representation in a broad range of commercial and civil disputes. Jeff aims to provide comprehensive analysis and professional, persuasive advocacy throughout the litigation process. His affiliations include the American Bar Association, Connecticut Bar Association, Vermont Bar Association, and Central Vermont American Inns of Court.
