Jay D. Miller

Jay D. Miller is a principal owner at Peter Angelos Law. He has nearly 40 years of courtroom advocacy and has become a top attorney since joining in 2010. He works in many areas, including birth injury, class actions, and medical malpractice. He also handles environmental, personal injury, and product liability lawsuits, including drugs, medical devices, Qui Tam, and mesothelioma cases.

Jay began his academic journey at the University of Baltimore. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice, graduating magna cum laude in 1983. He continued his education at the University of Baltimore School of Law, obtaining his Juris Doctor in 1987. Jay has practiced law in Maryland since 1987. He’s been in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland since 1989 and the U.S. Supreme Court since 1993.

Jay has shown great trial skills throughout his career and is committed to getting justice for his clients. Before 2010, he was the managing partner of his firm. He successfully tried the largest consolidated jury trial against a single cardiologist.

The victims received over $35 million in compensation. His skilled litigation strategies won clients hundreds of millions. This shows his effectiveness and dedication as a litigator.

Jay’s expertise goes beyond medical malpractice. He has also sued trucking and construction firms for causing injuries. He was key to the success of hundreds of U.S. service members who suffered permanent ear damage from defective 3M combat earplugs.

Jay currently leads the Camp Lejeune litigation at Peter Angelos Law. He is committed to advocating for veterans.

Besides his courtroom wins, Jay has held key leadership roles in the legal community. He chaired the Lawyer Assistance Committee for ten years. He was also president of the Baltimore County Bar Association. These roles show his commitment to helping lawyers and advancing the law.
