About
Jason R. Young has built a legal career centered on litigation and courtroom advocacy. His practice has focused on insurance defense litigation, where he has handled a wide range of cases involving liability claims, motor vehicle accidents, and other civil disputes. Throughout his career, he has worked extensively on every stage of the litigation process, including discovery, motions practice, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and jury trials. His long-standing commitment to trial work has helped him develop substantial courtroom experience across Colorado.
Jason earned a B.A. in History and Kinesiology from the University of Colorado in 1999. He later received his J.D. from the University of Denver College of Law in 2002. These academic achievements provided the foundation for a career dedicated to litigation and trial advocacy. His legal education, combined with years of practical courtroom experience, has contributed to his ability to represent clients in complex legal matters.
Jason has completed more than fifty-five jury trials during his career. Before concentrating on civil litigation, he spent eight years serving as a Deputy Public Defender in Adams and Denver Counties. During that time, he managed a demanding felony caseload and acted as lead counsel in jury trials involving serious criminal charges, including homicides, sexual assaults, crimes of violence, economic crimes, and cases involving not-guilty-by-reason-of-insanity pleas. This experience strengthened his litigation skills and broadened his understanding of courtroom strategy.
Through his litigation work, teaching, and public service, Jason R. Young has assisted clients and legal professionals by sharing practical advocacy skills and advancing effective courtroom representation. Jason has also contributed to the legal profession through education and training. As a faculty member of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy, he teaches trial skills programs across the country. In 2016, he was selected as one of three attorneys nationwide for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy’s Next Generation Faculty Development Program. In addition, he serves as a law enforcement instructor and remains active in professional organizations.
