Jason P. Bologna is a shareholder at Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC in Philadelphia. A trial lawyer, civil litigator, and former federal prosecutor, he represents businesses, executives, and professionals in civil and criminal matters. His practice focuses on white collar defense, False Claims Act investigations and trials, federal and state grand jury matters, internal investigations, and government enforcement. Jason also advises boards, audit committees, chief executives, and general counsel as they evaluate legal risks and respond to sensitive investigations.
Jason earned his J.D. from Temple University Beasley School of Law and his B.A. from Colby College. His legal training, combined with extensive courtroom and government experience, supports his ability to analyze complex evidence, develop practical defense strategies, and guide clients through every stage of an investigation or trial. He has also taught federal criminal trial practice and advocacy as an adjunct professor at Temple University Beasley School of Law.
Before entering private practice, Jason served for more than 14 years as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. He prosecuted matters involving healthcare fraud, mail and wire fraud, money laundering, federal program bribery, tax violations, opioid distribution, unlawful sports betting, and racketeering. Earlier, he handled criminal trials and homicide cases at the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office. Over his career, he has tried more than 80 jury trials, including 10 federal trials to verdict.
Jason P. Bologna has helped clients secure acquittals, dismissals, charging declinations, and favorable resolutions in significant civil and criminal matters. His experience includes defending a healthcare executive against embezzlement charges, obtaining dismissal of a corporate fraud case, and resolving a multiyear healthcare investigation after the Department of Justice declined criminal charges. He has received service recognition from the FBI, the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General, and the Organized Crime and Drug Enforcement Task Forces. Jason combines prosecutorial insight, trial experience, and practical judgment to protect clients facing serious legal and reputational risks.
