Jason Kohlmeyer is a Minnesota divorce and family law attorney based in Mankato. He focuses on helping clients address divorce, spousal support, child custody, parenting time, farm divorce, and business divorce matters. Since 2010, Jason has devoted his practice exclusively to family law. His work helps individuals and families navigate difficult legal issues with practical guidance, careful preparation, and attention to each client’s goals.
Jason earned his J.D. from Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota, in 2000. He also studied education at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota, graduating in 1995. Before becoming a lawyer, he worked as a high school social studies teacher. His education and teaching background support his ability to explain complex family law issues in a clear and useful way.
Jason began his legal career at the Dakota County Attorney’s Office and later gained nearly a decade of trial experience in Southern Minnesota. He has handled appellate matters before Minnesota courts and has experience with cases involving divorce, custody, criminal defense, and other legal disputes. His background also includes service in the Army Reserve as an Army Intelligence Analyst, which adds discipline and preparation to his legal work.
