Jared S. Liss

Jared S. Liss is an associate at Stein Sperling whose practice focuses on Commercial Litigation. He is a civil litigator handling complex commercial disputes and works with clients through the strategic and procedural demands of contested matters. Before joining the firm, he practiced at a large civil litigation firm in New York City, representing clients in state and federal courts across a broad range of general liability matters before moving further into commercial litigation.

Jared earned a B.S. in Finance from Pennsylvania State University in 2017 and a J.D. from Yeshiva University, Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 2022. His law-school experience included the New York Department of Financial Services Field Clinic Program. His finance background and legal training support work involving business disputes, damages issues, litigation strategy, and the careful review of facts and documents that can shape the direction of complex commercial cases.

Jared approaches litigation through clear communication, practical assessment, and close attention to a client’s goals. His prior state and federal litigation experience exposed him to general liability matters and the procedural demands of active civil cases. In commercial disputes, he works to identify the issues that matter most, explain legal options in manageable terms, and keep clients informed as cases move through investigation, motion practice, negotiation, discovery, and other stages of civil litigation.

His practice at Stein Sperling centers on commercial disputes that require organized preparation, responsive client communication, and strategic decision-making. Drawing on prior work in New York civil litigation and formal finance training, he helps clients understand litigation risk, evaluate possible paths toward resolution, and remain prepared for the procedural and factual challenges that arise in complex business controversies.
