Jana R. McCreary is an estate planning attorney who advises individuals and families on estate planning, special needs planning, and non-contested probate matters. She helps clients create individualized plans designed to protect assets, provide for loved ones, and address future decision-making needs. Her work includes wills, trusts, durable powers of attorney, health care planning, planning for minor children, and probate. She serves clients in both Texas and Florida.
Jana earned a J.D., summa cum laude, from Texas A&M University School of Law, formerly Texas Wesleyan University School of Law. She later received an LL.M. from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law and holds a B.S. in Psychology from Texas A&M University. Her legal and academic training supports careful analysis of estate planning, probate, and special needs matters involving families with different financial and personal circumstances.
Jana spent three years as an attorney with the Court of Appeals for the Fifth District of Texas at Dallas while completing her LL.M. She later moved into academia and taught law for eight years in Texas, Tennessee, and Florida. Before becoming an attorney, she worked for more than a decade with adults and children with intellectual disabilities and mental illness, experience that adds practical perspective to her special needs planning work.
