Jan Joseph Bejar

Jan Joseph Bejar is a highly respected immigration attorney and the founder of the Law Offices of Jan Joseph Bejar, A P.L.C., located in San Diego, California. With over 40 years of experience, he has dedicated his career to assisting individuals and families with complex immigration matters.

Mr. Bejar earned his J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1983. He also holds an M.A. from the University of Southern California. Additionally, he completed his undergraduate studies with a B.A. from the University of California, San Diego.

Since becoming licensed to practice law in California in 1983, Mr. Bejar has represented clients in a wide range of immigration cases. He is certified as a specialist in immigration law by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. He has appeared before federal courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th and 9th Circuits, and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California.

From 1994 to 2013, Mr. Bejar played a key role in shaping future immigration lawyers as an Adjunct Professor and Director of the Immigration Law Clinic at the University of San Diego School of Law. During his leadership, the clinic delivered essential immigration legal services to the community while providing hands-on training and courtroom experience to law students.

Mr. Bejar remains deeply involved in the legal community. He is an active member of the San Diego County Bar Association and the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), where he has held leadership positions, including serving as Vice Chapter Chair of AILA’s San Diego chapter.
