Jan Joseph Bejar

Jan Joseph Bejar is a highly respected immigration attorney and the founder of the Law Offices of Jan Joseph Bejar, A P.L.C., located in San Diego, California. With over 40 years of experience, he has dedicated his career to assisting individuals and families with complex immigration matters.

Mr. Bejar earned his J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1983. He also holds an M.A. from the University of Southern California. Additionally, he completed his undergraduate studies with a B.A. from the University of California, San Diego.

Since becoming licensed to practice law in California in 1983, Mr. Bejar has represented clients in a wide range of immigration cases. He is certified as a specialist in immigration law by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. He has appeared before federal courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th and 9th Circuits, and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California.

Mr. Bejar contributed significantly to legal education during his tenure as an Adjunct Professor and Director of the Immigration Law Clinic at the University of San Diego School of Law from 1994 to 2013. Under his leadership, the clinic provided critical assistance to clients and valuable training to law students. Mr. Bejar is an active member of professional organizations, including the San Diego County Bar Association and the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). His leadership roles include serving as Vice Chapter Chair of AILA’s San Diego chapter.
