James O. Broccoletti

James O. Broccoletti is a highly respected criminal defense attorney with a long-standing reputation for excellence in legal representation. James earned his B.A. from American University in 1975 and received his J.D. from the College of William and Mary in 1978. He was admitted to the Virginia State Bar in the same year.

James began his legal career in 1978 at the Norfolk Commonwealth Attorney’s Office before transitioning to private practice in 1985. Since then, he has specialized in defending individuals charged with criminal offenses. His legal expertise spans federal and state cases, covering complex criminal defense, white-collar crimes, and capital defense matters.

James is licensed to practice law in all Virginia state courts, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court. He has held key leadership roles with the Virginia State Bar, including serving as past chair of both the Criminal Law Section and the Standing Committee on Legal Ethics. James is also a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and an active member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
