About
James Forcier is an attorney with Audette, Audette & Violette whose practice includes personal injury, workers’ compensation, general liability, and related civil litigation. He has represented injured individuals and workers as well as employers and insurers. His work includes Rhode Island workers’ compensation matters and claims arising under the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act, along with general liability disputes.
Forcier earned a bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Rhode Island in 2000 and a law degree from Roger Williams University School of Law in 2003. He later earned an LL.M. in Taxation from Boston University School of Law in 2006. In law school, he received a CALI recognition in Law and Medicine and participated on the ATLA Mock Trial Team.
Forcier previously worked as staff counsel for Liberty Mutual and Travelers, where he handled Rhode Island workers’ compensation defense and general liability matters. That insurance-side experience complements his work representing injured people and workers. He understands how compensation and liability claims are evaluated from multiple perspectives, including medical evidence, employment history, coverage questions, damages, and litigation strategy.
James Forcier brings experience from both claimant and defense work to injury, compensation, and liability cases. Forcier’s background allows him to evaluate how insurers, employers, and injured parties may approach the same dispute. His current practice involves developing evidence, addressing medical and legal issues, negotiating contested claims, and litigating matters under state compensation law, federal longshore law, and general civil liability principles.
