James earned his B.S. in Political Science from Oklahoma State University in 1987. He earned his J.D. from the University of Tulsa College of Law in 1990. His education helped prepare him for a long career in family law litigation, mediation, and arbitration.

James works as a civil litigator, mediator, and arbitrator. His family law practice focuses on high-conflict, high-resolution divorce, child custody, child support, alimony, protective orders, adoptions, guardianships, and juvenile deprived matters. He has handled thousands of trials during his legal career.

James spent 30 years working as a private practice attorney before joining Fry & Elder. At the firm, he works with a team of family law attorneys that includes Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent-rated attorneys Robert G. “Hap” Fry Jr. and James R. Elder.

James is a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association and the Tulsa Bar Association. His practice areas include divorce, child custody, child support, alimony, modifications, premarital agreements, relocation of minor children, juvenile deprived proceedings, and grandparent rights for clients facing family law matters.
