James Aldredge is a regulatory, administrative, and environmental attorney who concentrates on serving water and wastewater suppliers across Texas. James Aldredge works closely with clients to address complex state and federal regulatory issues, helping them move projects forward with clarity and confidence. He regularly appears before agencies and courts to resolve matters involving water rights, utilities, and environmental compliance.
James earned a B.A. in Government in 2002 from the University of Texas at Austin. He later received his J.D. in 2008 from Southern Methodist University, Dedman School of Law. His academic background in government and law provides a strong foundation for handling regulatory frameworks and administrative proceedings involving public utilities and natural resources.
James represents clients before the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUC), and the State Office of Administrative Hearings. He also appears in state district and appellate courts. His work includes water rights permitting for reservoir projects and indirect reuse, water quality permits such as TPDES and TLAP, and utility matters including CCN applications and rate appeals.
James previously served as counsel for the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, where he gained valuable insight into agency procedures and water regulation in Texas. He has guided local governmental entities and private utilities through groundwater and wastewater authorizations, bond validation lawsuits under Chapter 1205, and service area disputes before the PUC and appellate courts.
