Jacob W. Buchdahl is a partner at Susman Godfrey LLP and a nationally recognized trial lawyer with extensive experience in complex business disputes. He represents both plaintiffs and defendants in cases ranging from federal and state court trials to arbitration before AAA and FINRA. Known for his clear and strategic advocacy, he has built a practice that combines sharp courtroom skills with the ability to simplify highly technical issues for judges and juries.
Jacob earned his B.A., magna cum laude, from Yale University before completing his J.D. at Yale Law School. After graduation, he clerked for Judge Charles S. Haight, Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York and Judge John M. Walker, Jr. of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. These early experiences gave him a strong foundation in both trial and appellate work.
Jacob began his career as a federal prosecutor in the Public Corruption Unit of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York. In that role, he tried multiple jury cases and secured convictions in high-profile corruption and fraud matters, including against a senior U.N. official. Since joining Susman Godfrey LLP, he has represented clients such as NBCUniversal, Third Point, and Memorial Sloan Kettering, achieving major victories in commercial and financial disputes nationwide.
Jacob W. Buchdahl has been recognized for his litigation work in leading legal rankings for over a decade.
