About
Jack P. Calareso is a managing principal and Albany attorney whose practice covers business and commercial litigation, business transactions, trust and estate disputes, and commercial real estate transactions. He represents individuals, small businesses, Fortune 500 companies, government entities, and nonprofit organizations. His work ranges from resolving disputes to helping clients complete transactions and address legal issues that affect their operations and property interests.
Jack earned a B.A. from the College of the Holy Cross in 1995. He went on to receive his J.D. from The Columbus School of Law at the Catholic University of America in 1998. During law school, he served as a member and associate editor of the Catholic University Law Review. His legal education laid the foundation for a practice spanning litigation, transactions, and counsel to organizations with different needs.
Before entering private practice, Jack served as an Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of New York. He later became a partner at an Albany law firm and founded and managed his own practice. He is admitted in New York, all four federal district courts in the state, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court. His practice also includes appellate work, mediation, and matters involving lenders and business formation.
Jack P. Calareso has received an AV Preeminent peer review rating from Martindale-Hubbell and recognition as both a Rising Star and a New York Super Lawyer. Beyond his legal work, he serves on the Capital Region Chamber’s Government Affairs Committee. He has served as president of the Niskayuna Central School District Board of Education and on the boards of several community organizations. His background in public service, business, and litigation informs his approach to clients’ legal concerns.
