J. Ross Pepper

J. Ross Pepper is a highly accomplished trial lawyer with over 29 years of experience advocating for clients in civil litigation and arbitration matters. He has led cases across Tennessee and in courts outside the state, including appeals before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Rosshas earned top industry honors, including the prestigious AV Preeminent rating for legal ability and ethics.

Ross received his Juris Doctor from the University of Tennessee School of Law with high honors in 1990. While in law school, he was part of the Tennessee Law Review and the Craven Constitutional Law Moot Court Team. After graduation, he clerked for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and completed advanced advocacy training through the National Institute of Trial Advocacy in 1993.

Ross has successfully represented individuals and businesses in a wide range of complex disputes. His practice includes business litigation, real estate conflicts, shareholder and employment disputes, personal injury claims, construction law, and contract breaches. He has worked with clients from various sectors, including banking, technology, manufacturing, and construction.

Ross is an active leader in Tennessee’s legal community, serving in key roles with both the Nashville Bar Association and the Tennessee Bar Association. A Fellow of the Nashville Bar Foundation, he also contributes his experience on multiple local boards and committees, including the Metropolitan Board of Zoning Appeals, where he currently serves as vice chair. Beyond his legal practice, Ross is committed to community service and mentorship through his longstanding involvement with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee.
