J. Caleb Cassell is a dedicated Nashville criminal defense attorney who represents clients facing a wide range of serious charges, including DUI, domestic violence, probation violations, assault, and criminal homicide. Mr. Cassell earned his Juris Doctor from Belmont University College of Law, where he served on the Mock Trial Team and as Executive Editor of the Belmont Criminal Law Journal. He also holds a dual Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Philosophy from the University of Tennessee–Knoxville. His academic excellence continues to shape his thorough legal reasoning and courtroom advocacy.
Prior to private practice, Mr. Cassell gained prosecutorial experience at the Rutherford County District Attorney’s Office, handling complex homicide cases and courtroom proceedings. He later clerked for the Criminal Circuit Court in Rutherford County, focusing on constitutional violations involving the Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Amendments.
In private defense practice, Mr. Cassell uses his prosecutorial insight to advocate vigorously for those accused of crimes. He has successfully defended clients against felony and misdemeanor charges, post-conviction matters, and sensitive cases involving protective orders and sexual offenses.
