After completing his early education in Newport News, Irving pursued higher education in Virginia. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Commerce from the University of Virginia in 1989. He then obtained his Jurist Doctorate from the T.C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond in 1994, preparing him for a broad and practical legal career.
Upon admission to the Virginia State Bar, Irving practiced with the largest and oldest law firm on the Virginia Peninsula. On June 1, 2001, he opened his own sole practice, which has since developed into the current firm. His experience spans a wide range of legal matters, allowing him to guide clients through both straightforward and complex issues with confidence.
Irving’s practice areas include real estate and property law, litigation, court practice, corporations, contracts, estate planning, trusts, estate administration, partitions, debt collection, and personal injury. He also brings experience in real estate closings, negotiations, and title insurance matters, offering practical, efficient solutions.
In addition to his legal work, Irving Goldstein is active in professional and community organizations. He has served on multiple boards, including the Newport News Bar Association and several nonprofit and civic organizations across the Peninsula.
