Ilya D. Frangos

Ilya D. Frangos is a respected California attorney recognized for his dedication to justice and exceptional advocacy for those injured or wronged by negligence. He has successfully represented clients in complex personal injury, wrongful death, and employment matters, achieving verdicts and settlements that have restored dignity and stability to his clients’ lives.

Ilya earned his B.A. in Rhetoric from the University of California, Berkeley, followed by his J.D. from UC Law San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings College of the Law), with an emphasis in Criminal Law. Before entering civil litigation, he worked with the District Attorneys’ offices in San Mateo and San Francisco, prosecuting criminal cases and gaining extensive courtroom experience.

Ilya has been honored numerous times for his professional achievements, including the Witkin Award for Academic Excellence in Trial Advocacy (2009) and Best Brief in Appellate Advocacy. His peers have repeatedly recognized him as a Northern California Super Lawyers Rising Star from 2013 through 2019, and he has been named a Super Lawyer from 2022 onward, distinctions awarded to only a small percentage of attorneys statewide.

Ilya’s leadership extends beyond the courtroom. He served as President of the San Mateo County Trial Lawyers’ Association (2016–2017) and continues on its Board of Directors. He also serves on the At Large Board of Governors for the Consumer Attorneys of California and co-founded the Veteran Lawyers of San Mateo County. His military service as a JAG Captain in the California State Military Reserve from 2010 to 2015 reflects his commitment to public service and legal counsel for National Guard soldiers.
