About

Ian G. Conits is a South Carolina litigator who advises individuals and corporations in challenging disputes. His practice centers on building practical strategies for matters that demand careful judgment and strong advocacy. He is known for handling business conflicts, high-stakes business breakups, and contested estate and trust disputes with a steady, focused approach.

Ian earned a B.A. in Political Science from Clemson University in 2013. He later earned a J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law in 2016. That academic path helped prepare him for a litigation career that blends legal analysis, courtroom skill, and strategic problem-solving in complex civil matters.

Ian handles a broad range of litigation matters, including business and commercial disputes, probate, trusts and estate litigation, appellate work, commercial transportation issues, and securities litigation and FINRA arbitration. He works through complicated facts and legal questions with a goal of creating case strategies that fit the client’s needs and the stakes involved.

Ian also brings focused knowledge in e-Discovery & Information Governance, an area that affects nearly every modern lawsuit. Because of this experience, he can address electronic discovery issues as part of the larger case strategy. That ability helps clients manage complicated litigation efficiently while keeping the focus on the core dispute.

Ian built his legal background through several public service roles before entering private practice. He served as a judicial law clerk under the Honorable Letitia H. Verdin, as an Assistant Solicitor for the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit Solicitor’s Office, and as a Special Assistant United States Attorney for the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of South Carolina.

Ian’s work has earned recognition in several areas of litigation. He was named in Best Lawyers in America, Ones to Watch for Commercial Litigation, Litigation Trusts and Estates, and Transportation Law. He also received multiple Greenville Business Magazine Legal Elite honors and was recognized by TALK Greenville Magazine as a 2025 Top Lawyer.

Ian G. Conits is also active in legal and community organizations, reflecting a strong commitment to service beyond the courtroom. His career shows a consistent effort to help clients navigate difficult disputes with clarity and purpose. By combining litigation experience with practical strategy, he helps people protect their interests in high-pressure legal matters.
