About
Pierce Campbell is an accomplished attorney whose practice centers on business and corporate matters, litigation, and wealth and estate planning. He advises companies, lenders, developers, and families facing complex legal issues. His work reflects sound judgment, steady leadership, and a practical approach shaped by years of courtroom and advisory experience.
Pierce earned a B.B.A. from the University of Georgia in 2001 and a J.D. from the University of South Carolina in 2004. He was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 2004, the United States District Court, District of South Carolina, in 2004, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit in 2005.
Pierce has guided businesses through major transitions and important decisions. He has acted as outside counsel for a regional manufacturing and distribution company, managed a corporate reorganization, handled financing projects, and negotiated contracts. He also represented a regional subcontractor in a reorganization and later sale to a national contractor.
Pierce has built a strong record in banking and business litigation. He helped defend South Carolina’s mortgage recordation system against legal challenges, protecting continued access to mortgages across the state. He also represented a regional bank in debt collection litigation involving disputed signatures, guarantor issues, collateral questions, and claims over information handling.
Pierce has also handled difficult disputes involving family businesses, churches, and failed ventures. He served as lead trial counsel and long-term adviser in corporate, probate, and partition cases tied to a family-owned farming and development business with assets exceeding $15 million. He also secured favorable outcomes in litigation connected to a failed water-bottling venture.
Pierce has experience in administrative and regulatory law as well. He successfully represented a developer in a long-running landfill permit dispute in the South Carolina Administrative Law Court. His work helped confirm that the permit complied with regulations, ordinances, and solid waste management plans after years of legal review and challenge.
Pierce Campbell is also recognized for probate litigation and appellate work, including representing a beneficiary on novel issues of South Carolina law and obtaining a successful result upheld on appeal. His work has earned recognition from Best Lawyers in America, SC Super Lawyers Rising Star, and Chambers & Partners, USA.
