Herbert S. Kellner

Herbert S. Kellner is a highly experienced trial attorney with more than 30 years of litigation practice in civil, criminal, family, and administrative matters. He has tried thousands of cases, including serious personal injury actions, disability claims, tax disputes, commercial litigation, and complex felony matters. His background also includes landlord–tenant disputes, vehicle and traffic cases, and appellate work, giving clients strong, dependable representation across a wide range of legal issues.

Mr. Kellner earned his J.D. from Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center. He also completed legal studies at New York Law School and St. John’s University School of Law, and holds a dual degree from Syracuse University. His added training includes advanced polygraph certification, forensic hypnosis coursework, and specialized programs through the National College of District Attorneys. He is admitted to practice in all New York State Courts, several federal district courts, the U.S. Supreme Court, and other federal tribunals.

Mr. Kellner’s career includes service as a former Law Guardian appointed by the Appellate Division, representing children in sensitive family court matters. He has also served as an Administrative Law Judge for New York City and has handled disability litigation involving police retirement claims and federal Social Security benefits. His experience extends to commercial trials, paternity and custody disputes, and termination of parental rights cases, reflecting a deep understanding of both civil and criminal litigation.

In addition to his courtroom work, Herbert S. Kellner has been an active member of the Suffolk County legal community. He serves as Chief Counsel to the Suffolk County SPCA and has co-chaired bar association committees. He has also taught continuing legal education programs and mentored youth. Known for his dedication, thorough preparation, and courtroom skill, he provides clients with clear guidance and strong advocacy.
