Mona E. Markus

Mona E. Markus is a highly accomplished appellate attorney known for her exceptional written advocacy and consistent record of success in complex criminal and civil matters. Educated at Harvard Law School, where she graduated with honors, Mona built a strong academic foundation that continues to define her rigorous legal approach. She also earned a B.A. with Honors and Distinction from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, further deepening the analytical skills she now applies in high-stakes litigation and appeals.

Throughout her career, Mona has achieved notable results in the Eleventh Circuit, the Fifth Circuit, other federal appellate courts, and Florida state courts. Her successful representation in major cases, including the Abreu and Ganji appeals, highlights her ability to navigate complex issues and secure impactful outcomes for clients facing significant legal challenges.

Before joining her current firm, Mona served as a shareholder at Stearns Weaver Miller, where she litigated complex commercial disputes and helped secure a federal class-action verdict in excess of $1.2 billion for Exxon service station dealers. Her role extended through the appellate process and administration of compensation to more than 12,000 class members.

Earlier in her career, Mona E. Markus gained analytical and strategic experience as a management consultant at McKinsey & Co., and later shared her expertise as an Instructor of Law at the University of Miami School of Law.
