Henry M. Miller

Henry M. Miller is a partner at Grant, Miller & Smith, LLC in St. Louis, Missouri, with more than 25 years of experience representing clients in family law matters. His practice includes contested and uncontested divorce, high-net-worth cases involving complex assets, child custody and visitation, child support, spousal maintenance, guardianships, adoptions, and motions to modify or enforce existing judgments. Hank also handles juvenile cases, domestic violence orders of protection, LGBTQ family law issues, and name and gender marker changes.

Hank earned a B.A. from the University of Missouri in 1996. He then received a Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri Columbia School of Law in 1999. He was admitted to practice in Missouri that year. He is also admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.

Hank is prepared to litigate complicated disputes and has successfully tried many cases. However, his extensive mediation training also allows him to pursue reasonable and efficient agreements when possible, particularly when children are involved. He serves as a parent coordinator and as a Guardian Ad Litem in divorce cases, representing the best interests of children. Before concentrating on family law, Hank spent more than a decade practicing criminal defense. He handled state and federal matters, won acquittals at both levels, and served on the Criminal Justice Act Lead Panel for the Eastern District of Missouri.

Henry M. Miller was selected as a Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2011, 2012, and 2014 and for inclusion in Missouri and Kansas Super Lawyers from 2015 through 2025. He belongs to the St. Louis County, St. Charles County, and Jefferson County bar associations. Appointed by the Missouri Supreme Court, he also volunteers on a regional committee for the Missouri Office of Chief Disciplinary Counsel, where he helps review and investigate allegations of attorney misconduct. His service reflects a continuing commitment to professional responsibility and Missouri’s legal community.
