H. Randolph Williams is a distinguished attorney with over 45 years of experience in law, specializing in individual tax and estate planning, particularly for family-owned businesses and clients with international investments. Randolph is recognized for his expertise in estate planning and his ability to handle complex tax issues with precision and practical solutions.
Randolph graduated with a B.A. in French and Political Science from the University of Kansas, followed by a Juris Doctor from Southern Methodist University Law School. He also received an LL.M. in Taxation from New York University. Upon completing his law education, Randolph served as a Briefing Attorney to the Supreme Court of Texas, where he gained valuable insight into high-level legal matters.
Throughout his career, Randolph has chaired committees of the American Bar Association’s Tax and Estate Planning, Probate and Trust Law Sections, and the Illinois State Bar Association’s Estate Planning Section Council. He is also a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and a member of the Chicago Estate Planning Council.
Randolph is a founding member of the Chicago chapter of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). He is a nationally recognized speaker on estate planning, regularly presenting across the U.S. and Canada, and has taught advanced courses in trusts, tax law, and estate planning at Washburn University School of Law and Chicago-Kent College of Law.
H. Randolph Williams is also an active member of the Chicago Council on Global Affairs and has served as the President of the Alliance Française of Chicago. For his contributions, the French government has honored him as Chevalier in both the Order of Arts and Letters and the National Order of Merit.
