About
Guy W. Bluff is a trial and appellate attorney, arbitrator, and mediator with more than 40 years of experience in construction law, business matters, commercial litigation, real estate, and alternative dispute resolution. He represents owners, developers, design professionals, and contractors in matters ranging from contract negotiations to complex disputes. His civil engineering background allows him to examine technical issues alongside the legal and business concerns that shape each matter.
Guy earned a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Arizona in 1982. He later received a Juris Doctor from the University of Puget Sound School of Law in 1986. His engineering training provides a practical foundation for evaluating construction methods, project coordination, contracts, and operational risks. Combined with decades of legal practice, this education supports his ability to explain complicated issues and develop strategies grounded in both technical knowledge and legal analysis.
Guy has appeared before more than 300 courts and tribunals, including state and federal appellate courts, the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, and the American Arbitration Association. He has handled more than 4,000 disputes and obtained multimillion-dollar verdicts. Since 1992, he has served on the association’s National Panel of Construction, Commercial, and Consumer Neutrals and has arbitrated hundreds of matters nationwide. His previous leadership roles include general counsel and chief compliance officer for a major remodeling company and ownership of a general engineering contracting business.
Guy W. Bluff is licensed in Arizona, California, Colorado, and New Mexico. His professional recognition includes an AV Preeminent rating, the Platinum Client Champion Award, and selection to America’s Top 100 High Stakes Litigators.
