Margaret Lewis Meister is a New Mexico attorney and shareholder at Modrall Sperling with more than 35 years of experience in real estate law, commercial transactions, and business law. She guides businesses through facility siting, land sales, leasing, entity formation, mergers, acquisitions, and lending transactions. Her work includes representing buyers and sellers in stock and asset transactions. She further advises lenders, borrowers, developers, energy companies, and businesses working on government or Indian lands.

Margaret earned her B.A. in English, cum laude, from Trinity University. She later received her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Texas School of Law. She completed each degree with academic honors. Her academic background provided a foundation for a career involving sophisticated real estate, corporate, finance, and energy transactions.

Margaret is admitted to practice in New Mexico and Texas. She chairs the Corporate, Banking, and Real Estate Practice Group and co-chairs the Renewable Energy Service Group. Her work includes traditional and renewable energy projects, public and private land development, and transactions involving Indian tribes and Indian lands. She has further served in leadership roles with real estate, energy, and business organizations
