Greg McCollum

Greg McCollum is the managing partner of Complete Legal Defense Team in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where he practices exclusively in criminal defense. He represents clients accused of felonies, misdemeanors, federal crimes, and Driving Under the Influence (DUI). His practice includes murder, assault, sexual assault, robbery, kidnapping, drug trafficking, possession, and other serious criminal charges. Through direct guidance, he helps clients understand the evidence, possible penalties, and strategic choices affecting their freedom, reputation, families, and careers.

Greg completed his undergraduate studies at Clemson University and earned his Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law. He was admitted to practice in South Carolina in 1988. His education developed the research, advocacy, negotiation, and courtroom skills required for difficult criminal matters. He began practicing criminal law that year as a public defender in the Myrtle Beach area.

Greg later spent more than five years as a felony prosecutor in Horry and Georgetown counties. He successfully prosecuted hundreds of cases before entering private defense practice in 1993. In 1994, he became the first prosecutor for Horry County’s centralized DUI Jury Court. He handled every highway patrol DUI prosecution arising in the greater Myrtle Beach area during that assignment. Across his prosecutorial and defense careers, he has tried more than 200 cases, including over 100 DUI trials.

Greg McCollum formed Complete Legal Defense Team in 2014 to provide focused representation for people facing investigations or criminal charges. He serves on the Public Defender Selection Committee and has supported several community and professional organizations. His service has included the South Carolina Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, Grand Strand YMCA, and Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce. He has also coached school mock trial teams, helping students develop advocacy and courtroom skills. His prosecutorial insight, extensive trial record, and client-focused approach support careful preparation in high-stakes criminal cases.
