About
Graham Ojala-Barbour is a Minnesota immigration attorney who represents immigrants and families in removal defense, asylum, family-based immigration, and other matters before immigration authorities and courts. He also represents people with criminal convictions who face immigration consequences and works to protect clients from deportation when possible. His practice includes helping families remain together, pursuing lawful immigration status, and guiding clients through complex cases involving government agencies and court proceedings.
Graham earned a J.D. with honors from the University of Minnesota School of Law in 2011 and a B.A. in Religious Studies and Spanish from Pacific Lutheran University in 2008. He is fluent in Spanish. After law school, he completed fellowships with the Ramsey County Public Defender’s Office and the Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota. His education and early legal experience strengthened the research, advocacy, and client counseling skills that continue to support his immigration practice.
Graham worked as an associate attorney before opening his own firm in 2014. His work includes defending clients from deportation, pursuing asylum, and helping families reunite or remain together through family petitions. He represents clients in immigration court and handles matters that may require review by the Board of Immigration Appeals or federal courts. His experience with people who have criminal records also helps him address immigration problems where criminal history and immigration law intersect.
Graham Ojala-Barbour is admitted in Minnesota, the US District Court for the District of Minnesota, and the US Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. He served on the executive committee of the Minnesota/Dakotas chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association from 2016 to 2020 and chaired the chapter from 2019 to 2020. He also taught as an adjunct professor at the University of Minnesota Law School from 2017 to 2019. His recognitions include Minnesota Super Lawyers Rising Stars and Minnesota Lawyer’s Up & Coming Attorney.
