Gina Carter is a seasoned attorney with expertise in intellectual property (IP) law, credit union law, and financial services regulation. As Of Counsel at Husch Blackwell, she provides strategic legal counsel to clients in various industries, helping businesses protect their intellectual property, navigate complex regulations, and manage legal risks. With over 25 years of experience, Gina has built a reputation for her deep understanding of client needs and her ability to provide effective legal solutions.

Gina earned her J.D. with honors from Georgetown University Law Center. She also holds a B.S., cum laude, from Georgetown University. She is admitted to practice law in Wisconsin and has represented clients in federal courts across the country.

As leader of Husch Blackwell’s Credit Union team, Gina provides strategic legal counsel to credit unions nationwide on governance, mergers and acquisitions, vendor and fintech contracts, consumer finance issues, and complex regulatory compliance. She also advises credit union service organizations (CUSOs) on corporate structuring, data privacy and cybersecurity, and protection of intellectual property. With deep experience dating back to the mortgage crisis, Gina has helped financial institutions manage risk, respond to regulatory scrutiny, and maintain long-term stability in rapidly changing market conditions.
