Gerard M. D’Emilio is a shareholder at GableGotwals in Oklahoma. His practice focuses on litigation and appellate matters. He handles state and federal litigation, appellate law, class actions, multi-district litigation, employment and labor law, business restructuring, workouts and bankruptcy, energy, oil and gas, and products liability matters today.
Gerard earned his J.D. from the University of Oklahoma College of Law with highest honors. He also earned an M.M. from Westminster Choir College with strong distinction, a B.A. in Politics from Oberlin College with highest honors, and a B.M. in Vocal Performance from Oberlin Conservatory of Music.
Gerard graduated first in his law school class and held that rank every semester. At OU Law, he served as an Articles Editor on the Oklahoma Law Review, joined the National Moot Court team, served as a Dean’s Leadership Fellow, and led the school’s Federal Bar Association chapter.
Gerard served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Jerome Holmes of the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. He also clerked for the Honorable David L. Russell of the United States District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma after completing law school.
Gerard earned honors including Order of the Coif, National Order of Scribes, Nathan Scarritt Prize, S.T. Bledsoe Memorial Prize, James F. Hawes Memorial Cup, sixteen American Jurisprudence Awards, 2017 Holloway Scholar, Best Lawyers “Ones to Watch” for appellate practice, and Super Lawyers Rising Star for general litigation work.
Gerard M. D’Emilio is admitted in Oklahoma, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Western Districts of Oklahoma. He is a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association and the Federal Bar Association, and is recognized by Best Lawyers and Super Lawyers.
