About
Gay Woodhouse is of counsel at Woodhouse Roden Ames & Brennan, LLC in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Her practice spans criminal defense and civil litigation, with additional work in personal injury, business planning, real estate, and trusts and estates. She represents clients in state and federal matters and brings experience from public service to the disputes and legal decisions they face.
Woodhouse earned a B.A. from the University of Wyoming and a J.D. from the University of Wyoming College of Law. Her legal training provided a foundation for work across criminal and civil proceedings, as well as the planning matters listed in her practice. That breadth helps her assess legal issues in context and communicate practical options to clients.
Before private practice, Woodhouse served as an Assistant United States Attorney from 1990 to 1995, handling criminal and civil federal litigation. She later became Wyoming’s first female Attorney General and established her own law firm in 2001. She has appeared in Wyoming district courts and is admitted to practice before the Tenth Circuit and the United States Supreme Court, alongside work on matters involving federal and state criminal charges.
Gay Woodhouse has also contributed to the legal profession through service as president of the Wyoming State Bar and on committees concerned with criminal justice and court rules. She received an Equality Award in 2010 for work supporting the professional development of women attorneys. Her public and private practice experience informs her approach to advocacy and client service across a broad range of matters.
