Gary Steven Brown

Gary Steven Brown has practiced law for nearly four decades, using his experience to assist individuals and families with elder law, estate administration, and Medicaid planning. His career began in a large firm and corporate practice, where he represented major financial institutions, but he shifted focus to helping people directly with real-life legal challenges.

Gary earned his B.A. from LSU before obtaining his Juris Doctor from the Louisiana State University Law Center. Since being admitted to the Louisiana Bar in 1983, he has also been admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of Louisiana, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

Gary is a Certified Medicaid Planner, a credential that recognizes his leadership in guiding clients through complex nursing home Medicaid eligibility. He develops strategies to protect assets, preserve income, and ensure families qualify for long-term care benefits. His guidance extends to estate recovery prevention, spousal impoverishment protections, and navigating Social Security and VA benefits in Medicaid planning.

He has been honored with numerous distinctions throughout his career.
