Gary A. Abelev is a New York-based partner who represents domestic and international clients in complex patent and intellectual property matters. His practice includes patent litigation, proceedings before the USPTO, PTAB, and ITC, as well as licensing and strategic negotiations. Gary earned his JD from St. John’s University School of Law in 1995 and was named to the Dean’s List. He received an MS in Electrical Engineering from New York University – Polytechnic School of Engineering in 1992. He also earned a BS in Electrical Engineering from the same institution in 1989, graduating with Dean’s List and Dean’s Recognition honors.
Gary’s litigation experience spans courts in the United States and abroad. He handles both contentious and non-contentious matters before government agencies, including the USPTO, PTAB, and ITC. Gary focuses on technologies such as medical imaging, artificial intelligence, semiconductor manufacturing, communications systems, circuit design, and automotive technologies.
