Garrett B. Moritz

Garrett B. Moritz is a founding partner of Ross Aronstam & Moritz LLP in Wilmington, Delaware. He represents corporations, directors, boards, and other business clients in complex corporate and commercial litigation, particularly before the Delaware Court of Chancery. His practice includes mergers and acquisitions disputes, fiduciary duty claims, stockholder litigation, governance matters, and other high-stakes cases requiring careful legal analysis, strategic advocacy, and a practical understanding of Delaware law.

Moritz earned his J.D. magna cum laude from Harvard Law School in 2003 and his A.B. summa cum laude in history from Harvard College in 2000. He began his legal career as a law clerk to Judge Robert D. Sack of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. His academic training and federal appellate clerkship developed a strong foundation in legal writing, complex analysis, and persuasive advocacy.

Before co-founding Ross Aronstam & Moritz LLP, Moritz practiced at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz in New York, where he represented corporations and directors in major M&A litigation during the private equity boom and financial crisis. His representative experience includes matters involving KKR Financial Holdings, Tesla, McDonald’s, CBS, Facebook, and Chicago Bridge & Iron. Through these cases, he helps clients address transaction challenges, corporate control disputes, fiduciary claims, and other significant business conflicts.

Garrett B. Moritz has been ranked in Band 1 by Chambers USA for Court of Chancery litigation and has also been recognized by Benchmark Litigation and The Legal 500. He serves on the District of Delaware Federal Civil Panel, providing pro bono representation in meritorious civil cases. He has also guest lectured on Delaware corporate litigation at several leading law schools, reflecting his knowledge of corporate governance, courtroom strategy, and evolving Delaware legal issues.
