Freddy Woods

Freddy Woods is a seasoned trial lawyer and the founder of The Woods Law Firm, a statewide legal practice in South Carolina. Since establishing the firm in 1997, he has focused his work on criminal defense and personal injury law. His practice is built on protecting legal rights and providing strong representation in both civil and criminal courts. With extensive courtroom experience, he has handled hundreds of trials and complex legal matters across the state.

Mr. Woods completed his legal education at Howard University School of Law, where he earned his J.D. He also completed graduate studies at the University of South Carolina, earning an MBA. His academic background further includes a B.A. in Political Science and Government from the University of South Carolina, with a minor in International Business. This education has given him a strong foundation in law, business, and public policy.

Mr. Woods, before entering private practice, gained valuable experience in public service and the legal system. He served as a CBCF Fellow in the United States House of Representatives, where he worked closely on legislative and policy matters. He also clerked for the Honorable Donald Beatty, now an Associate Justice of the South Carolina Supreme Court. These roles helped shape his understanding of both trial advocacy and judicial processes.

Mr. Woods has represented clients in high-value civil and criminal cases across South Carolina throughout his career. He has served as chief counsel, co-counsel, and of counsel in complex litigation, including insurance, business, and technology-related matters.

Freddy Woods has also dedicated time to pro bono legal work, particularly for children involved in the juvenile justice system. Through his work, he has consistently focused on fair treatment, access to justice, and strong legal advocacy for individuals facing serious legal challenges.
