Evan Boetticher

Evan Boetticher is a Partner focused on high-stakes intellectual property litigation, primarily in life sciences and biotechnology. He handles disputes involving antibodies, diagnostics, stem cell technology, digital PCR, genetic screening, and pharmaceuticals, including Hatch-Waxman matters, as well as patents related to water purification, augmented reality, and communications systems.

Evan earned his BS in Psychology from The Ohio State University before completing his Masters Neuroscience at Northwestern University. He later obtained his JD from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law, where he served as Symposium Editor for the Northwestern Journal of Technology and Intellectual Property and as Associate Producer for Wigmore Follies.

Evan draws on a decade of applied scientific experience, including numerous publications, before entering legal practice. This background enables him to quickly understand complex technologies and present them clearly in court. He focuses on simplifying detailed scientific concepts so judges and juries can understand the key issues.

Evan represents clients in bench trials, jury trials, the International Trade Commission, and before the USPTO in inter partes review proceedings. His work spans life sciences, healthcare, and technology sectors, guiding clients through patent disputes involving innovative products and scientific advancements in highly contested matters.

Evan Boetticher has handled significant matters, including Amgen, Inc. v. Sanofi-Aventis U.S. LLC, et al., where a jury found the patent valid and infringed in an antibody treatment case. He also represented clients in Depomed Inc. v. Banner Pharmacaps, Inc. et al. and Depomed Inc. v. Actavis Elizabeth LLC et al.
